An industrial compound is three sites in one: a freight yard, a staff car park and a walking worksite, all laid over the same tarmac. HGVs delivering to the store, employee cars clocking in, visitors at reception and crews on foot crossing to the line all meet at the same junction. When those flows are not physically separated, the site runs on luck. A bollard draws the lines so each group stays in its own lane.

A plant runs every hour and every season, often beside fuel and chemicals where a leak is a real risk.
